An Australian woman reportedly ditched by her Indian husband has filed a complaint with Kaithal SP Waseem Akram, who has entrusted investigation to DSP Krishan Kumar.

The DSP said the matter was being investigated and an FIR might be registered after investigation and legal opinion. He said the purported husband had been summoned and his statement recorded.

According to information, a man of Rasina village in the district reportedly married Juliana Maria Morris of Perth, who was 20 years older to him, to get permanent residency in Australia.

After coming back to India, he married another woman. On coming to know about this, Juliana filed a complaint of cheating via e-mail and demanded legal action. In her complaint, Juliana said the study visa of the Kaithal man had expired in 2013 and they married on January 21, 2014.

After they stayed together for two years, the man applied for permanent residency, which got rejected and he was directed to leave Australia within 28 days. Juliana stated that she had spent around Rs 7 lakh on buying a car for her husband, who sold it before leaving for India.
