The police on Tuesday booked four persons for stealing batteries from solar lights and a gas cylinder from a house of Gurtej Singh at Mainuana village in the district.

In a complaint lodged with the police by Mander Singh of Mainuana village, he stated that accused Sukhwinder Singh, Rajinder Singh and Nishan Singh, residents of Jagah Ram Tirath village, and Gagandeep Singh of Mainuana, on the intervening night of April 11 and 12, stole batteries of solar streetlights installed in a village and a LPG cylinder from a house of Gurtej Singh in the village.

The police have arrested accused Sukhwinder, Gagandeep and Rajinder while Nishan Singh is absconding.

A case under Sections 457, 379 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against all the accused at the Talwandi Sabo police station.
