Chandigarh, April 15

Alleging falsely implication in a case of unauthorised storage and milling of huge paddy stocks by a private miller at Patiala, a retired district manager of Punjab State Warehousing Corporation, Gurnam Singh, has resorted to ‘Gandhigiri’ to seek justice.

Fighting his case for the last 15 years, Gurnam on Monday staged a dharna outside the office of the corporation.

Having credible evidence, Gurnam said the corporation had wrongly imposed a recovery of Rs 77 lakh and a cut of 35 per cent in his pension for an anomaly that did not happen during his posting. “Hem Raj Sharma was posted at Patiala during the period when the anomaly has been reported,” he added.

In a fresh appeal for personal hearing before the corporation’s managing director, Abhinav Trikha, Gurnam, after being chargesheeted, moved the Punjab and Haryana Court twice for not being heard.
