Competitions mark legal literacy function

As part of a legal literacy function, several competitions were organised at the Government Postgraduate College, Sector 1, under the aegis of the Haryana State Legal Service Authority and the Higher Education Department, Haryana, today.

A total of 47 colleges from all divisions of the state participated in competitions such as skits, powerpoint presentation, documentary, painting, declamation, poetry, debate, essay writing, slogan writing and quiz.

Vivek Goyal, CJM and Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Panchkula, was the chief guest. He gave away awards to the winners.

He said, “Social justice is the right of every citizen and it must reach everyone. A District Legal Services Authority has been established in all districts of Haryana, which organises legal awareness camps at least once in a week so that people can be made aware of their legal rights”.

Principal of the college, Archana Mishra, inaugurated the event.
