Three IITians bring laurels to Samalkha

PANIPAT: Three youths from Samalkha have cracked the UPSC examination, the result of which was declared on Friday. All three are IIT graduates.

Three youths from Samalkha have cracked the UPSC examination, the result of which was declared on Friday. All three are IIT graduates.

Ankit of Seharmalpur village has secured the 34th rank, Anuj Paliwal of Manana village 226th and Neeraj Kadyan of Biholi village 227th.

Bhupender Singh, Ankit’s father who is an architect in the CPWD at Delhi, told The Tribune that Ankit cracked the UPSC exam in his first attempt. He has been working as a chief engineer in Honda in Japan for three years. He completed his BTech in mechanical engineering from the IIT-Delhi in 2016.

Sarita, his mother, is posted as a senior pharmacy officer in the Central Government Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Anuj Paliwal of Manana village is an IIT-Roorkee graduate. It was his third attempt.

Inspired by the lectures of IAS and IPS officers and his seniors, Anuj had decided to crack the prestigious exam. “My parents always supported me,” said Anuj.

Neeraj Kadyan, 28, is already an Indian Forest Service officer and is presently serving as district forest officer in Kurukshetra.

“After BTech and MTech in computer science from IIT-Delhi, I worked with Samsung,” said Neeraj.

Balwan Singh, his father, is working in Central Soil Salinity Research Institute, Karnal, and Kavita Rani, his mother, is an anganwari worker.
