Chandigarh, March 26
The Department of Zoology, PU, held a two-day national conference, ZOOCON-2019, today to highlight the current challenges and achievements of biodiversity for human health and social welfare.
The chief guest, Dr AK Singh, Director General (life sciences), DRDO, emphasised on the impact of technology and issues related to climate change, natural and man-made disasters and genetically modified crops.
Over 100 delegates presented their research work during the conference.
DUI Prof Shankarji Jha enlightened the audience about the importance of biodiversity and its sustainability. Prof RNK Bamezai, former VC of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, J&K, spoke on glycolytic pathway enzyme, Pyruvate Kinase M2 as tuner and re-programmer of cancer metabolism. — TNS
