Amritsar, March 24

Members of the unemployed PTI, BPED, and MPED teachers union, Punjab, held a protest against Education Secretary Krishan Kumar on Sunday. They demanded jobs for physical education teachers.

The union in a press statement urged the state government to remove Krishan Kumar from the post of Education Secretary. They claimed that his decisions had affected the working of department and teachers.

“ The posts of physical education teachers have been abolished in middle schools. This is no way of promoting sports in the state,” said a teacher.

State union secretary Sandeep Singh said, “If demands of teachers, including unemployed ones are not met, we will intensify our struggle. We want the removal of Education Secretary as he is a hurdle between the government and teachers.”
