Srinagar, March 24

Awami Ittehad Party president Engineer Rasheed on Sunday asked the people of Kupwara district to vote for him in the parliamentary elections for the “restoration of dignity, honour and rights of the people of J&K”. Rasheed, who is contesting from the Baramulla seat, said this while addressing a gathering at Handwara.

He lashed out at the NC, PDP and People’s Conference, and asked people to rise to the occasion by taking a decision “of their conscience” and reject parties “who are equal stakeholders in destroying Kashmir”.

“My 10 years in the Assembly are like an open book. The masses must make a difference between friends and foes. While the NC is trying to create fear psychosis by discussing BJP’s hyper-nationalism, the PC is dividing Kashmiris on ethnic and sectarian lines to gain votes,” Rasheed added. — TNS
