Colour of joy

Go organic: Mahhima Kottary

This lovely festival reminds me of my childhood days and the amount of crazy fun we used to have. It was never a one-day affair. Celebrations would start 10 days before and we would play the most mischievous pranks on passers-by. Over the years, my definition of playing Holi has changed a lot. I prefer playing dry Holi and using organic colours now.

Special occasion: Ridheema Tiwari

As a child, Holi was just an occasion for good food, especially my nani’s yummiest homemade mawagujias. My nani often caught me stealing food and splashing water all over... and called me a badmaash baccha or a noisy tataiya. This year, since this is my first Holi post my marriage, it is indeed special. I would love to play Holi with my husband.

Pure fun: Prakriti Nautiyal

When we were kids, we used to play Holi with eggs and grease. Since I’m short, my friends used to pick me up and throw me into the building’s water tank. The colours were so pakka that we couldn’t recognise each other for days! It’s the festival of happiness and togetherness.

Festive affair: Rehaan Roy

I remember how I used to wake up early in the morning, fill up water balloons and keep them stored. Playing Holi with my entire family and friends would always remain my fondest childhood memory of Holi. This year, I am planning to spend the day with my closest friends. We will play dry Holi.

Changing times: Sahil Anand

My memory of Holi is from my days in Chandigarh. I won’t forget once we were on a tractor, literally 10 to 15 guys, and we were going from one sector to another, playing Holi with strangers! The definition of Holi has changed over the years. Earlier we used to play this carefree Holi, but now there are things that need to be taken care of, like harmful colours.

Tomato farm: Kishori Shahane Vij

I remember once during Holi we ended up at our uncle’s tomato farm and we smashed all the tomatoes like the Tomatino festival. It was such a healthy and organic Holi. On the day of Holi, I am usually the one waking up early and colouring all the members once they are up. I may go Holi-hopping this year with all my friends and family.

Work day: Adaa Khan

I remember we used to play Holi a day before in school, but a dry one only with colours. The actual Holi I used to play was in our locality. We used to throw water balloons from the roof and used to hide so that no one could figure out. And that was the ultimate fun. This year I will be shooting and I have no off.
