Cleanliness campaign to be kicked off on March 23 in Mansa

Paying tributes to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, the administration of Mansa will launch a Saturday Voluntary Service Programme (Shanivaar Shramdaan Mission) on March 23.

According to a release issued on Wednesday, Mansa DC Apneet Riyat said the main aim of this activity was to pay homage to Shaheed Bhagat Singh by ensuring cleanliness in the entire district. She said, “Voluntary cleaning of the district will be held over a period of six weeks.

The DC added that it would ensure involvement of senior officers accompanied by staff members. With this programme, the ongoing cleanliness projects in Mansa will get a boost.”

Mansa SDM Abhijit Kaplish, who is also the nodal officer of Saturday Shramdaan Mission, said, “While one town of the district will be taken up for cleaning every week, the activity will be performed in Mansa town throughout the six-week campaign.”

“It will start on March 23 — the martyrdom day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh — from Bachat Bhawan wherein all government department officials will gather and initiate cleaning. On March 23, all government officials will take an oath of dutifulness, selfless and devotion to the nation while remembering the great martyr,” he added.
