Former president of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee Manjit Singh GK today made clear that he would be either in national politics or in gurdwara politics saying that there was conspiracy behind the allegations of financial irregularities levelled against him.

Manjit said he would not be in national politics and gurdwara politics at one time. He will chose one side in future.

He said this in a press conference organised after the police submitted closure report in the case of Gurmeet Singh Shanty versus Manjit Singh GK in allegations of financial irregularities.

He said, “I do not name anybody behind the conspiracy. Almighty knows this. He will help me and punish those involved in the conspiracy. Had I not been fair, I would have not resigned. I also assured that I would not join the post of the DSGMC until I am proved clean.”

Manjit said, “Allegations are levelled in politics. But I have become victim of conspiracy. My father late Santokh Singh was also in gurdwara politics. Allegations were levelled against him too, though a number of historic works including, establishing of Guru Harkrishan Public School, Bangla Sahib Parking, Sarowar, land for Bala Sahib Hospital, Kotwali area added to the premises of Sheesh Ganj Gurdwara, Nanak Piao Gurdwara, etc., went to his credit. In 1981, he was murdered. I was also attacked twice in foreign and once in Delhi.”

“During tenure of my leadership in the DSGMC memorial of 1984 riot was constructed, Delhi Victory Diwas celebrated at Red Fort, statue of Baba Banda Singh Bahaur installed, 300th martyrdom function of Banda Singh Bahadur obesrved, 350 anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh celebrated” he said.

Manjit said had he been close with the Congress how he would have fought case against Sajjan Kumar and Jagdish Tytler. — TNS
