Attire made out of waste material leaves audience awestruck

Beautiful attire, peppy music, trendy accessories and stunning models created rollicking environment at Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT).

The insititute organised a mega fashion show titled “Fashion Icons-2019”. Rimple and Harpreet Narula were the chief guests and awardees for the ‘Best Costume Design’ for Bollywood magnum opus “Padmaavat”.

Dr SP Singh, former Vice-Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University and general secretary, Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council (GKEC), welcomed the guests.

In the first event, students of BSc fashion technology presented attire on the theme “Rags to riches”. Students were lauded for dresses prepared using foil paper, straws, jute, leaves, flowers and other waste materials.

They also dressed up models, who set the ramp on fire with ethnic, western and indo-western collection under the theme “About me-an unsaid story”.

As many as 200 models from Punjab, Rajasthan, HP and Delhi enthralled the audience.

Narula addressed the gathering and inspired budding models to believe in their dreams and confidently pursue their careers in the fashion Industry.

Rimple motivated students to do what they love the most. She said, “When you pursue your passion, path to success becomes comparatively easier and shorter.”

Gursharan Singh Narula congratulated the participants and appreciated efforts of the fashion technology department of the GGNIMT.
