On the eve of Holi, more than 20 amateur singers from across the region presented old Bollywood melodies in a musical bonanza, ‘Pyar Zindagi hai’, dedicated to senior citizens by the Swar Tarang Kala Manch at Tagore Theatre here on Wednesday.

Singers captured myriad emotions in their presentations. A bureaucrat couple of SS Parsad (IAS) was romantic in ‘Jo tum ko ho pasand’, while Ranju Parsad was ecstatic with ‘Bhai baduoor’.

Sterling performances came from accomplished composer-singer Pawan Chopra, father of Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra, in ‘Sansar hai ikk nadiya’. Sanjeev Mago ‘Musafir’also mesmerised the audience. They submerged the audience in emotions. Classical compositions such as ‘Naache mann mora’ by Jagdish Deva and ‘Pagg ghungroo bandh’ by Ajit Arora were appreciated.

Besides Krishan Sanwara, Deeksha Rathi, Shadeepa Bose, Dr S Mavi, Sunita Sehgal, Rajbir, Radhika Grover, Dishita, Suman Rani and others rendered various songs.

Anchoring the programme with literary competence, Rakesh Arora explained the significance of the concert for senior citizens.
