Seminar on tourism economics

Jalandhar: An ICSSR-sponsored national seminar on Tourism Economics, under the aegis of the department of economics of KRM DAV College Nakodar, was held recently. A total of 90 research papers were received for the seminar. The participants were apprised of how ‘Tourism Economics’ could help in sustainable development model. Dr Anoop Kumar, principal of the college, stressed on the need of such seminars.The keynote address was delivered by Dr Prasanth Kumar Gautam, Director, ULHTM, Punjab University, Chandigarh.  He highlighted how Mauritius and Switzerland had survived on tourism only.
