Phagwara: The Phillaur police arrested a drug peddler, Naresh Kumar, and seized 700 intoxicating tablets from him on Monday. Phillaur DSP Davinder Singh Attri said in another incident, the police had seized Rs 2,84,000 in cash from a car near Sutlej Bridge. OC

Top positions for KNCW 

Phagwara: Students of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara, secured top positions in Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), the results for which were declared today. Harminder Kaur (Bvoc Sem VI) secured the first position. Muskan (BAJMC Sem IV) bagged the third position and Anjali Bhardwaj (BAJMC Sem IV) secured the fifth position. Principal of the college, Dr Kiran Walia, congratulated the students for achieving the distinction. OC 

House burgled

Phagwara: The house of an NRI, Devki Nandan Pathak, was reportedly burgled in the Mehli Gate locality here on Monday night. Ashwini Kumar, the caretaker of the house, told the police that burglars entered the house after breaking the locks  and decamped with valuables worth Rs 50,000. The police have registered a case in this regard. OC
