A session on ease of doing business was held under the state government’s business reform action plan in the office of GM DIC in which officials from Director of Industries and Commerce, Government of Punjab and officials from PSIEC interacted with the stake holders and made the participants aware of the effective steps and policies.

Vishav Bandhu Monga, Deputy Director, along with Harshpal Kaur, assistant director, Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Punjab discussed various reforms and policies under the Invest Punjab Scheme

The FICO members and other industrialists asked the officials to pay attention towards upgradation of infrastructure at Focal Points, which were in bad shape. The delegates asked officials to provide NOC to industrial units under Central Ground Water Authority.

The delegates said that 4,800 units had applied for NOC while just about 38 units were able to get NOCs. The units should be exempted from it, demanded industrialists. There is a need to upgrade the existing power distribution system of Ludhiana said FICO members.

They also said all the works related to financial institutes including banks are stagnant, as they all demand the clearance Certificate from PSIEC.

The industrial units established in Focal Point Phase VIII cannot get their limits enhanced from banks, they can’t get their bank accounts transferred, which is hitting the industry very badly.
