GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, organised an expert lecture on health and well-being with focus on pervasive issues of substance abuse, heart disease and cancer.

Dr Rajeev Bhalla, director, Health Services, Punjab, visited as the recourse-person during the lecture jointly organised by the NSS Unit and Red Ribbon Club of the college.

Dr Bhalla talked about stress, poor lifestyle choices, delayed diagnosis, fear of failure and lack of purpose in life as causal factors for major diseases, alcoholism and drug addiction.

He stressed on cure through resilience rather than illusionary control as resilient minds would have a prevailing sense for healthy decisions and thus resist temptations. — TNS
