New Delhi, March 19

Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta and South Delhi MP Ramesh Bidhuri said they would meet Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora tomorrow to complain against AAP for its violation of the prevailing Model Code of Conduct.

Gupta said the AAP was violating the Model Code of Conduct by misusing picture of a cow and a calf for hurting sentiments of public at large and inciting religious differences amongst different groups with intent to disturb the peace and tranquillity among masses.

They would also complain again the AAP for violation of the Model Code of Conduct by engaging its MLAs in field inspections during installation of CCTV cameras in different colonies and markets.

The BJP leaders said they would lodge their protest how the AAP still continued to use call centers for its misinformation campaign with regard to deletion and addition of names from voters’ list. They would request the Chief Election Commissioner to take strict action against AAP members for their continuous and gross violation of the Model Code of Conduct.

Gupta said on March 16 Raghav Chadha, a close associate of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, posted on his twitter handle a picture in which a cow and a calf were shown standing at the door of a house with caption “Door to Door Campaign by BJP”. In place of taking action against the defaulting leader, Kejriwal and other AAP leaders “liked” the post, thereby collaborating in violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
