One nabbed for thefts

NEW DELHI: A 45-year-old man, who used to target e-rickshaw drivers by giving them drug and then decamp with their vehicles, was arrested, a police official said on Tuesday.

A 45-year-old man, who used to target e-rickshaw drivers by giving them drug and then decamp with their vehicles, was arrested, a police official said on Tuesday.

The accused has been identified as Avadhesh Singh, a resident of Brahampuri. Three e-rickshaws were recovered from his possession, he said.

The accused was arrested from the Seelampur area, he added.

During interrogation, Singh said he, along with Deepak, has committed theft of more than 20 such e-rickshaws, a senior police official said.

The accused further disclosed that they used to make sedative drink tasteless and odourless and mix it in juice and give it to drivers, the official said. — PTI
