A youth died after falling into the Ganga in Pauri district, the police said.
Ashish Jaldi (22), a resident of the Kotdwar area, fell into the river late on Sunday apparently after losing balance.
He was at the Mastram ghat in the Lakshman Jhula area when the incident happened.
The state water police divers immediately launched a search operation.
Within half-an-hour, Jaldi was brought out of the river, but the doctor declared him dead by the time he was shifted to a hospital. IANS
