Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has asked MLAs of his constituency to work hard for the party’s victory. On Thursday evening, a meeting of the party core group was held.

The Chief Minister asked the MLAs and local BJP leaders to work at the grassroots level. He said the aim was to win all four Lok Sabha seats, adding that Mandi was the most important of all. Thakur told the workers to iron out their differences and work unitedly to defeat the Congress.

On Friday, he presided over a Mahila Morcha Sammelan in Seraj, where a larfge number of people turned up. He asked locals and workers to ensure that the party candidate won. Sitting BJP MP Ramswaroop Sharma was also present.

BJP top brass discusses poll strategy

Hamirpur: Top BJP leaders had a meeting at Bhota near here today to find out ways to ensure victory of party candidates in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. It is learnt that all BJP candidates who contested the Assembly elections and office bearers of the district and block level committees were called to attend the meeting.

The meeting was addressed by former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, state BJP president Satpal Singh Satti, Industries Minister Bikram Thakur, Rural Development Minister Virender Kanwar and member of Parliament Anurag Thakur. Significantly, the BJP is likely to field all four sitting MPs in the general elections. These are Anurag Thakur, Ram Swaroop Sharma, Virender Kashyap and Shanta. Sources said that the leaders exhorted office bearers of the party to work for the victory of the party putting any personal differences aside. It is learnt that the BJP wanted to focus on patriotism and cash in on in the wake of surgical strikes by armed forces.
