BVM students display skills in chess meet

Ludhiana, February 11

Around 130 students (boys and girls) from primary section (Class II to V) took part in a chess competition organised at Bhartiya Vidya Mandir (BVM) Senior Secondary School, Udham Singh Nagar branch, here on Monday.

The competition was conducted to encourage the students towards chess, which requires concentration, memory retention and mental skills.

Principal Bandana Sethi gave medals to the position holders. She lauded the efforts of physical education department faculty members, who under the guidance of Baljeet Gill, organised the competition.


Boys (Class V): Krishna Sharma first, Akhil Kumar second, Arman Jain and Udhav Samwal third.

Class IV: Ishant Sharma first, Aryan Jain second, Hemant Sharma and Vansh Kumar Sahota third.

Class III: Divyas Nagwan first, Gorish Kareer second, Arshdeep Singh and Shivam Kanojia third.

Class II: Yatharth first, Namish second, Mohd Tayyab and Prashant Singh third.

Girls (Class V): Alisha Tangri first, Vanshika Jain second, Manya Garg and Somya Sharan third.

Class IV: Prachi Madaan first, Chhavi Handa second and Subhashree Majhi third.

Class III: Geetika Chopra first, Garima Kapoor second, Dhvanni and Bhavya third.
