Jalandhar: Students of Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Senior Secondary School, Sangal Sohal village - Variana, Kapurthala Road, Jalandhar, celebrated ‘Lohri’. The celebration commenced with a special assembly, in which students recited a poem on the ‘Lohri’. Competitions, including ‘show and tell’ and ‘Folklore fest’ were held. In ‘show and tell’ competition, students of Class I to V narrated stories. In the ‘Folklore fest’, students sang melodious songs. Jalandhar: Staff and students of Ramgarhia College of Education celebrated ‘Lohri’ with traditional fervour and gaiety. The celebration was marked by spreading the message to save the girl child. Kanya Maha Vidyalaya

Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya celebrated the 156th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, based on the theme ‘Let’s bring change to the world’. The function was organised by the NSS Unit; Red Ribbon Club; the Department of Political Science and the PG Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. The organisers accorded floral felicitations to Principal Atima Sharma Dwivedi. The principal apprised all of the meaning of the ‘National Youth Day’ and discussed the teachings of Swami Vivekananda and his contribution to the world. The programme concluded with slogan-writing and declamation contest. TNS
