Bid to uproot Axis Bank ATM

Some car-borne miscreants attempted to uproot an ATM of Axis Bank on the 33 Feet road, Sundar Nagar, here on Friday. However, they failed in their attempt and fled from the spot. The crime was captured in the CCTV cameras of the ATM kiosk.

ADCP Rajvir Singh said the incident occurred at 3.50 am today. Thieves were captured in the CCTV cameras footage, but due to unclear images, they could not be identified.

“Thieves had come in a Tata Indica car. They tried to uproot the ATM by tying a rope to the car. When they accelerated the car to pull the ATM, a hook tied around the ATM broke and hit the rear windshield of the car, which broke. Following this, thieves fled from the spot,” the ADCP added.

Some passersby informed the police about the incident at 7 am. As per bank officials Rs 8.51 lakh in cash was left after withdrawals from the ATM. A case under Sections 457 and 380, IPC, has been registered against suspects.
