Trains diverted, rescheduled for infrastructure upgrade

Northern Railways would take a traffic block from January 23 to February 8 for non-interlocking work for strengthening infrastructure on the Alwar-Bandikut section. As a result, some trains would be diverted via alternate routes or regulated at intervening station.

According to railway officials, 19415 Ahmedabad-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Express (on Jan 27), 19416 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Ahmedabad Express (on Jan 29) and 19612 Amritsar-Ajmer Express (on Jan 29) would be diverted to run via Rewari-Fulera junction chord line on dates mentioned against each.

Further, 12413 Ajmer-Jammu Tawi Express and 12414 Amritsar-Ajmer Express would be regulated for 40 minutes (at Malakhera) and 51 minutes (at Alwar) respectively on January 30, 2019.

While overall movement of trains in the region witnessed some improvement due to let up in the weather conditions, Railways announced cancellation of 12 trains on Friday, two trains were rescheduled for late departure, two were diverted via alternate route while two others were partially cancelled.

It was officially stated that 19611 Ajmer-Amritsar Express, 14674 Amritsar-Ajmer Express, 04402 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Anand Vihar Terminus (New Delhi), 12241/42 Chandigarh-Amritsar-Chandigarh Intercity Express, 13152 Jammu Tawi-Kolkata Sealdah Express, 14502 Jammu Tawi-Bathinda Express, 15209/10 Saharsa-Amritsar-Saharsa Jansewa Express, 15212 Amritsar-Darbhanga Jannayak Express and 15707/08 Katihar-Amritsar-Katihar Amrapali Express trains were cancelled for the day.

Among the rescheduled trains were 12408 Amritsar-Newjalpaiguri Karambhoomi Express (3.30 hrs) and 14611 Ghazipur City-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (2.20 hrs). 12408 Amritsar-Newjalpaiguri Karambhoomi Express and 22706 Jammu Tawi-Tirupari Humsafar Express were diverted to run via alternate route between Ludhiana and Ambala Cantt.
