Couple looted at gunpoint

Bathinda, January 11

A couple was robbed by three miscreants at gunpoint near Mehraj village in the district.

In a complaint lodged by Jasveer Singh, a resident of Bhiani village, it has been stated that he was going on a motorcycle with his wife when three persons stopped them near Mehraj village.

They took away Rs 2,000 from his wallet, his gold ring, his wife’s gold earrings and his mobile phone by pointing a gun at him.

The police have registered a case against three unidentified persons under Sections 392 and 34 of the IPC and Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act at the Rampura City police station.

On January 6, an incident of snatching was reported on the GT Road near Mann petrol pump in the city.

In a complaint lodged by Harjinder Singh with the police, it has been stated that he was going near the Mann petrol pump when two youths came on a red two-wheeler and snatched his wallet containing Rs 1,000 and important documents. — TNS
