BSF Punjab team won the ‘All India Gold Cup’, that was held in Nagpur by beating Kerala team in the tiebreaker. The team is now gearing up for the ‘All India Police Games’ going to be held in Kerala from January 28 and will culminate in the first week of February.

Football coach of the team Suraj Bhan Handa, informed that Jalandhar beat Kerala 4-2

in the penalty shootout. In December, last year, the team of the BSF for the first time, had roped in a former football player who played for Uruguay for years. Jorge Vazquez Di Biase, Methodological Director of ‘Football of Royal Spanish Football Federation, had imparted the coaching to the BSF team for seven days.

The BSF officials said since many tournaments were approaching, including a national-level football tournament and the All India Police Games, it was important that such training should be given to the players.

The ‘neurofootball’ methodology which has been discovered by Biase is used by the footballers in Spain. Three parts that come under the methodology are possession, progression, and finish/ execution.

Satish Nair, retired second in command from the BSF, said: “Under this methodology, the player has 180 degrees vision, where the player can change his mind last minute by observing the situation that who should they pass the ball and act according to it by passing the ball to another player.”

Nair is associated with Sportseed-Pro, a Gwalior-based company, in the association of which, the whole training programme are being carried out in thecountry at various places.
