- The NHAI has came under scanner for bad engineering as a concrete chunk fell off from the Rampura flyover on the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway, hindering traffic movement between Manesar and Gurugram
- The affected portion, estimated to be about six sq ft, fell off from the flyover, nearly 45 km from Delhi
- “The affected portion of the expressway (on the Jaipur-Delhi route) has been cordoned off,” Manesar traffic police chief Munesh Kumar said
- Extra police force has been deployed on and near the flyover, while heavy vehicles were diverted to service lanes.
- “Only light vehicles are passing on the elevated road. Traffic under the flyover has been completely stopped,” Kumar said.
- The flyover was opened to traffic about two years ago
- This incident comes months after a chunk of concrete fell off Hero Honda Chowk flyover in Gurugram creating a 1.5-m crater
