Gurugram, December 17
The police have busted a four-member gang of cab robbers, who had allegedly kidnapped and robbed more than 20 persons in the past two months.
The accused, hailing from Mewat, would pose as commuters and a driver of a shared taxi, the police said. They would offer a ride to people, mostly IT professionals or hotel employees who get free late at night, rob them at gunpoint and dumped them.
The gang members would beat up the victims to give their ATM cards and pins. They would later withdraw money.
The police had been trailing them for a month after Commissioner of Police KK Rao had directed them to arrest the gang members soon.
