Rohtak, December 17
Jagmati Sangwan, CPM mayoral candidate in Rohtak, has demanded a thorough probe into the alleged bungling in mayoral and municipal elections and re-election in booths where serious lapses were witnessed during polling.
Jagmati, while speaking to mediapersons on Monday, alleged that some booths were captured in Kheri Sadh village, bogus votes were polled in others, a large number of voters could not vote due to discrepancies in the voters’ lists and widespread confusion prevailed over the functioning of the multi-post EVMs, as a result of which many votes might not have been registered.
She questioned the role of the law and order machinery for failing to act against minister Manish Grover. Representatives of Left parties said they would submit a written complaint. — TNS
