Gurugram, December 17

Congress leader Margaret Alva’s son Nikhil Alva has been booked on the charge of harassing his neighbour by sending her emails with sexual overtones.

His father is a former Governor of Rajasthan and Uttarakhand.

The victim, a mother of three children, had filed a police complaint on November 11 and the case was registered on December 5.

She alleged Nikhil had been targeting her on several email groups with more than 300 members. “The emails were not just defamatory, but also had sexual overtones,” she alleged.

“He systematically assassinated my character on multiple groups. He not just used objectionable language, but also instigated residents to attack my house. He has disturbed my social and family life,” she alleged.

Nikhil has been booked under Sections 354-D (stalking) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the IPC. — TNS
