Chandigarh, December 17

Leader of Opposition Abhay Chautala on Monday said the INLD would waive farmers’ loans and electricity bills and halve power tariff if his party was voted to power.

He promised “Kanyadaan” amount of Rs 5 lakh on marriage of a poor girl, increase of social security pension to Rs 3,000 per month and unemployment allowance of Rs 15,000 a month.

He was addressing a rally at Madhosinghana village in the Ellenabad Assembly segment of Sirsa district.

Abhay said welfare schemes like old-age pension and “Kanyadaan” had been started by INLD founder Devi Lal and the party would increase it according to the present conditions. Hitting out at the BJP, he alleged that the ruling party had given the slogan “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” and promised jobs to unemployed youths, but did nothing in this regard.— TNS
