300 participate in painting contest

CHANDIGARH:As part of the national awareness campaign to promote energy conservation in the country, the finals of an on-the-spot-state level painting competition for school students of Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana were conducted by the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) in Panchkula today.

As part of the national awareness campaign to promote energy conservation in the country, the finals of an on-the-spot-state level painting competition for school students of Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana were conducted by the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) in Panchkula today.

Over 25.5 lakh students had participated in the competition at the local and district levels out of which 300 were finally shortlisted for the state-level finals. The BBMB chairman, DK Sharma, was the chief guest at the event. Appreciating overwhelming response of children and lauding their awareness towards energy conservation, Sharma gave away cash prizes to winners of different categories. — TNS
