Nagrota MLA Devender Singh Rana met Governor Satya Pal Malik at Raj Bhawan here on Saturday.
Presenting a copy of the “Project Proposal: Conservation of Heritage Components on Traditional Vaishno Devi Route”, Rana requested the Governor, who is also the chairman of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, for the revival of the traditional route which starts from Jagti in Nagrota and ends at Nomain. He urged him to develop it as an alternative route for the pilgrims visiting the shrine.
He also drew attention to conservation of heritage assets, particularly the step wells, ponds, sarais, temples and springs, on the old route.
Rana apprised Malik about the development in his constituency and various public welfare issues. He thanked the Governor for sanctioning a government degree college for Nagrota which was a long-pending demand of people.
Assuring Rana of examining the project, the Governor urged him to continue his endeavours for the welfare of the public of state.
