Two held for sexual abuse of minors

The police have arrested two persons on the charge of sexually abusing two teenaged sisters of a village in Yamunanagar district.

The accused, Sonu alias Sohan Lal of Bichhiya village of Kaithal district and Kaka of Cheeka, were arrested by a CIA-I team.

“Sonu was arrested on Wednesday. He was on Thursday produced in a local court, which sent him in two-day police custody,” said Yadvinder Singh, CIA-I incharge. He said Kaka was arrested on Thursday.

He said Sonu and Kaka were arrested on the charge of sexually abusing the teenaged sisters. He said the third accused, identified as Sahil, was yet to be arrested.

The girls, aged 16 and 14, went missing on June 17. On the complaint of their father, a case of kidnapping was registered against Sonu at the Sadar police station.

The CIA incharge said the girls were recovered from Cheeka on October 9. He said Sonu and Kaka had kept the girls in a rented house in Cheeka.

He stated that they had sexually abused the girls several times. He said sections of the POCSO Act had been added to the FIR.
