The police have nabbed a serial killer accused of murdering three people within a year. The police said Sonu, alias Vicky, of Bihar is a drug addict and committed the murders with an intention to loot cash.

After murdering the victims, the accused used to disfigure their faces with bricks. The police recovered over 1,000 intoxicating tablets from his possession.

The police said he had confessed to have killed a differently abled beggar near the Chatiwind cremation ground on the intervening night of September 12-13. He also allegedly killed a 40-year-old beggar whose body was found near Gian Ashram School on the intervening night of August 24-25. Sonu also allegedly murdered Kamal Kishore (60) of Guru Gobind Singh Nagar near Gian Ashram School in October 2017. Recently, Sonu had critically injured Ashwani Kumar, a rickshaw puller, and snatched Rs 200 from him.

The police said he had come to the city five years ago and had he not been arrested, he would have killed more people for money.
