US trade curbs: India mulls moving WTO

The Union government on Thursday hinted it was considering taking up USA’s restrictive trade practices of imposing tariff on import with WTO, even though its export to the country was comparatively not much.

There is apprehension of greater indirect impact on account of possible dumping of products by countries feeling squeezed by the US policy.

Union Steel Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh said: “India is considering taking up the US restriction on import of steel with WTO.”
