Jammu, December 17

The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) on Monday clarified that the system adopted for the checking of answersheets of the Combined Competitive (Mains) Examination-2016 was foolproof and there was no scope of error.

Addressing a press conference, chairman of the JKPSC Abdul Latief-u-Zaman Deva said the commission would still provide an opportunity to aggrieved candidates to project their concerns by making a formal representation to the commission.

He asked the candidates to mail a formal representation to the commission within three days, mentioning their roll numbers and names.

To clarify the allegations by aspirants that the result declared by the JKPSC was “full of errors and scam”, the chairman said the new system adopted by the commission was foolproof and the commission did not favour any candidate.

“The only change we made in the recent checking was that the answersheets were scanned and the same were checked by the evaluators on computers. The secrecy of the name and roll numbers of the candidates was strictly maintained and there was no scope of any wrongdoing,” said Deva.

“Rest everything remained the same. The answersheets were checked and re-checked by the experts and there is no error in it,” he said.

Briefs Guv on improvements

The JKPSC chairman also met Governor Satya Pal Malik at Raj Bhawan. He briefed the Governor about the improvements being made by the commission in the timely conduct of exams, interviews and declaring of results with greater transparency and efficiency.
