Former minister and Nationalist Congress Party leader Jaidutta Kshirsagar on Wednesday resigned his seat in the state legislature following differences with party leaders.
Kshirsagar said he would be joining the Shiv Sena later this evening.
Announcing his resignation from the Maharashtra Assembly, Kshirsagar told reporters that he was upset at being sidelines by the party leadership. The NCP had made Dhananjay Munde the party’s in-charge of
Beed district, from where Kshirsagar hailed.
The former minister was in the cross-hairs of the NCP leadership after he campaigned for Munde’s estranged cousin and sitting Bharatiya Janata Party Member of Parliament Pritam.
However, he did not join the BJP following differences with the party leadership and has decided to join the Shiv Sena instead, sources said.
Senior Shiv Sena leaders accompanied Kshirsagar when he went to the Speaker’s office to submit his resignation as MLA.
