Mumbai runway closure hits city flight schedule

In the wake of closure of runway at Mumbai, three flights have been cancelled while some have been rescheduled at the Chandigarh international airport.

The official spokesperson of Chandigarh International Airport Limited (CHIAL) said the runway at the Mumbai airport would remain closed for repairs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from February 7 to March 30 between 11 am and 5 pm. Due to this, some changes had been made in the arrival and departure of flights depending upon the slot availability at the airport, he added.

The spokesperson said the GoAir flight number G8-581 with scheduled arrival of 12:55 pm had been advanced to 10:55 am from Mumbai and would depart for Ahmedabad at 11:25 am. It will return to Chandigarh from Ahmedabad at 3:15 pm and depart for Mumbai at 3:45 pm against its scheduled departure of 1:25 pm, he added.

Similarly, the IndiGo flight number 6E-495, with scheduled arrival of 11:40 am, would now arrive at 9:45 am. However, its departure to Mumbai has been cancelled. The Jet Airways flight number 9W-459 would reach Chandigarh at 9:45 am whereas its departure has been cancelled. The arrival of the Jet Airways flight number 9W-471 has been cancelled and its departure rescheduled to 3:20 pm. — TNS

Jaipur flight suspended

• Jet Airways’ Jaipur flight will remain suspended from February 11 to March 30 due to some operational reason at the airport in the Rajasthan capital, a spokesperson of the Chandigarh International Airport Limited said.
