Moving towards zero waste, varsity kicks off campaign

In order to promote eco-friendly surroundings, the CT University, has started one-of-its-kind ‘Zero Waste Campus’ campaign, which will last forever in the campus. The campaign ‘Zero Waste Campus’ is a regular drive to maintain cleanliness around the campus by all the students and faculty members.

Students from all the schools displayed the products made out of waste material. The display, included jewellery items, decorative material, boxes, wall clocks, automatic hammers, etc. This was also followed by a cleanliness activity where management, faculty and students cleaned the campus by separating the litter into three colored dustbins.

Elaborating about the ‘Zero Waste Campus’ Sukhminder Singh Grewal, Director Students Affair, said, “This drive will be regularly conducted in the campus. All the seven schools of the campus will be asked to split and maintain the cleanliness in the area assigned to them. In the end of every month, the best and clean area would be awarded.”

Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor, said the team CT would always make the students be not just educated beings but social beings as well. Team CTU will promote social causes always and forever and ensure clean quality of campus, he added. While appreciating the move, Manbir Singh, Managing Director, said to maintain cleanliness, is not a one-time task, it has to be supervised and processed every time and everyday.
