Ludhiana, May 9

If the BJP functionaries in the district and state are to be believed, after tomorrow, the party will put all its focus on supporting its candidates in Punjab.

Sources said the Prime Minister may visit the state in the next few days. One of the BJP leaders said that in the coming days, star campaigners from BJP will include PM Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and UP CM Yogi Adityanath. Smriti Irani and Hema Malini are also expected to visit the state.

“Narendra Modi’s visit is almost confirmed at two places — Bathinda and Ludhiana. The date and time has to be decided. The SAD office has been informed about the visit. It is believed that the PM has given assurance to the alliance partners that he will campaign at two places,” said the BJP leader.

“Apart from the BJP, Sukhbir Badal and Bikram Majithia are expected to campaign in most of the districts in the coming days,” said the BJP leader.

“It will not be a cakewalk for any candidate. The voters are too smart and will think twice before casting their vote. They are keeping all the record of works done for the city. A bottle of liquor or few bucks offered by any party or candidate will never be a turning point,” said Swaranjit Singh, a septuagenarian and an aware voter.
