Model UN conference concludes at DPS

BATHINDA: The first edition of the Model United Nations conference concluded at Delhi Public School (DPS) on Sunday.

The first edition of the Model United Nations conference concluded at Delhi Public School (DPS) on Sunday. The three-day conference witnessed brainstorming sessions, heated debates, discussions and passing of resolutions on national and international issues such as LGBTQ rights, peace and security, road map for peace in Kashmir etc.

In the closing ceremony, the country representatives were awarded with the titles including best delegate, special mention, high commendation and verbal mention each for the five committees. The best delegates were Meet Kamal (UNGA) from DPS Patiala, Shradha (UNSC), Dhruv (AIIPM) from DPS, Bathinda, and Vishwas (UNHRC) from Dashmesh Public School, Faridkot. The best journalist award was given to Aarushi (Al Jazeera) from DPS, Bathinda.

The chief guest for the closing ceremony was Dr Jasbir Singh Hundal, Registrar, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda. The guests of honour were Dr Rajesh Singla, Principal, SSD College of Professional Studies, Bathinda and Dr Tarun Arora from Central University, Punjab. The chief guest congratulated the school for successfully hosting the conference and lauded the efforts of the delegates.
