Ludhiana East MLA Sanjay Talwar has written to the Deputy Commissioner about the problems being faced by people for getting their properties registered at the Sub-Registrar’s (East) office.
“Before introducing online registration system, an average 170-180 registries were done daily. Now, only 96 general registries and four registries under Tatkal service are done daily. As people are forced to wait for a long time to get appointment to apply for registry, the office of the sub-registrar should make at least 150 registries daily. Besides, the office must make 10 registries under Tatkal service,” said Talwar.
“Private agents with fake identity cards generally cause harassment to visitors at the office. The administration must act against such fake agents,” he said.
“Besides, there should be no need of any numbardar and advocate when anyone applies to get registry of his/her property. Any applicant while applying for registry must be allowed to make his friend or relative as witness. Land record should be made available online as people are forced to make many rounds of patwari offices to get the copy of their property record,” said Talwar.
