The body of a seven-year-old girl was found with its hands and legs tied in a park in Nihal Vihar this morning, said a police official.
The family members of the girl have ruled out any enmity and blamed the police for not being sensitive about the incident. The family has lodged a missing report last night. They said the police didn’t pay any attention towards their complaint.
According to one of the family members, the girl had gone with another girl, who is hearing-impaired, to get some street food from a nearby vendor and never turned back. The disabled girl through her expression explained that somebody has abducted the girl.
The family members started searching for her in the area. They have alleged that police didn’t pay any attention to their complaint. And in the whole chilly night they kept searching for the girl, but couldn’t find her.
This morning, somebody found the girl's body in the park. There was a mark of injury on her face.
An official said a missing complaint was registered in the night and they were going to investigate the matter soon. Meanwhile, police has sent the body for post-mortem after which it will be revealed weather the girl was sexually abused.
According to the DCP, a case was registered under Section 363 of the IPC (Whoever takes or entices any minor under sixteen years of age if a male...said to kidnap such minor or person from lawful guardian in order to constitute an offence) was already registered, investigation was taken up and all necessary steps were taken to trace the girl.
After getting the body, Section 302 of the IPC (committing murder punishable) was added and further investigation is in progress, the DCP added.
