Chandigarh: With the ministerial staff of the state holding a pen-down strike since Wednesday and threatening to continue it, the government made effort to appease the striking employees. Employee union leaders held meetings with Principal Secretary to the CM Tejveer Singh. He sought time to resolve their demands for release of DA, its arrears and job regularisation. The employee leaders were assured that a meeting with a Cabinet sub-committee, headed by Health Minister Brahm Mohindra, would be held on February 24. Later in the evening, the government issued a notification for granting 6 per cent DA to employees, payable from February this year. TNS
