Dr Radhakrishnan Medical College and Hospital (DRMCH) started with students pledging to fight ragging on the campus on Monday.

All 85 students of the first batch were present along with their parents. On the occasion, Dr Anil Chauhan, Principal of the college, assured the parents that the college administration would not only take care of their studies but the faculty would also take care of them.

He said the college had adopted zero tolerance towards ragging on the campus and anybody found involved in ragging would be dealt with strictly.

The college was announced by the UPA government in 2014 along with two other medical colleges in the state, including at Nahan and Chamba, but was delayed following political, administrative and forest clearances.

A floral tribute was paid to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
