Meat plant staff protest delay in their salaries

Irked over non-payment of salaries for the past over two months, employees of Federal Agro, a meat processing plant in Dera Bassi, staged a protest on the premises here today.

The employees raised slogans against the management of the meat plant situated at Behra village here during the protest.

Sources said a large number of employees gathered outside the plant unit and protested there for over one hour.

“We have not been getting salaries for the past three months. Now we do not have any money to meet our day-to-day expenses,” alleged one of the employees.

They demanded early release of their pending salaries. The angry workers also threatened to intensify their protest if their salaries were not released soon.
