According to UNICEF, 8.4 million children are affected by the upheavel in Syria. Around 870 children were killed in the war-torn nation between January and September this year — one of the biggest death tolls since the conflict began in 2011. The neighbouring country Turkey hosts maximum Syrian refugees at 3.5 million
