Bathinda, August 20

Mansa ADC (G) Rajesh Tripathi presided over a meeting held for the revision of voter lists on Monday, wherein he emphasised to motivate youth to enroll themselves as voters and exercise their franchise.

Addressing the meeting, he said the youth of Mansa was far behind in the process of registering themselves as voters. There was a need to make concerted efforts in this regard. He exhorted that SDMs, election staff and the Education Department should leave no stone unturned to motivate the youth. The ADC said the meetings of schools, colleges, NGOs and officials of different departments should be convened for the purpose.

He also said on the basis of eligibility date, the schedule of the revised voter lists had been drawn from September 1 to October 31, 2018. The revised programme will commence from September 1, 2018. Claims and objections will be received from that date till October 31. The Booth-Level Officers (BLOs) will receive claims and objections at their respective booths from September 9 to 16.

Tripathi directed the officers to motivate the youth by organising meetings or camps so that they come forward to get themselves registered. — TNS
